Yes it has 55 features to help protect a child in a crash. It is built to minimize any injury no matter what direction the crash occurs from. This includes special SafeCells that help the seat compress if there is a crash so that the child’s head is protected.

Is the seat built to stand up to normal wear and tear?
It is a very well built car seat, built to protect your child and will hold up under normal wear and tear.

A couple of minor things, like trying to thread the shoulder straps and the seat cover seems to pop off. The shoulder straps can be thread through by taking your time to do it properly and when the cover is washed, it should be air dried.
